Joining the 21.Infanterie-Division

The 21.Infanterie division Living History Group not only attend public events and private battles through the year we are fortunate enough to have 2 locations which we use all year round. The first is just on the outskirts of London in Bushey, Hertfordshire at the site of the WW2 operational HQ of the USAAF 8th Fighter Command. The second is a private rural location in the midlands where our full size eastern trench network is located.

The 21.Infanterie division Living History Group has a unique program to introduce young historians into the reenactment world early.

We attend around 6-8 public events per year but between these we will also have meet-ups at our Base in Bushy, Herts. You can be as active as you wish with many group projects always on the go all members help out when they can but its sole down to the individual how much time he can spare in the hobby.

The group does not have an age cap buy in keeping with the impression we do ask for members to be physically fit as battle reenactments can be very demanding and members do need to be quick on their feet when necessary.

Our membership is drawn from all over the UK such as, Hampshire, Surrey, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, West Midlands, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire and Northumberland.

Becoming a member can take as long as you like from days to months depending on your availability. With 21.Infanterie being an all year group our next event is ever only a few weeks away and we are always happy to loan newmembers kit until they have purchased their own via our uniform/kit pool.

For details on becoming a member of the 21st Infantry fill in our online application form and our dedicated membership team will then get intouch and talk you through the process of becoming a member.

Young Members (16-18)

If you are aged 16-18 and have an interest in the Second World War in general this may be an opportunity not to pass up. This program allows you to depict young recruits fresh out of training enthusiastic to do your part for the German volk, on the Eastern Front from 1943 onward.

You will experience the extremes of the calmness of sitting around the campsite cleaning weapons under the ever present eyes of your older kamaraden to the burning heat of combat against continuous pressing oddsAs with most things for youths these days, laws will stop you from experiencing the full benefits that our older members are given such as carrying firearms. However, thats never stopped any of our members of our youth program getting stuck in manning our arsenal of weapons such as the infamous german 8 cm Granatwerfer 34.

Entrance age is 17 yrs 6 months for unaccompanied young members but members 16yrs-17yrs may join if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If this sounds like your cup of tea sign up now via the contact form on this page or contact our dedicated Youth membership advisor via email here.
