Film & Television

This is the story of Hitler’s war on the Eastern Front – an attempt to liquidate the Russian people and gain living space for his superior Aryan race. It is a conquest that takes the Nazis all the way to the gates of Moscow and back to the heart of Berlin. A war of annihilation that culminates in the collapse of the Third Reich.

About us

Wartime Productions was initially set up as the professional film & TV service of the 21. Infanterie WW2 Historical society and has since grown into a WW2 production network of some of the best UK based WW2 production suppliers. Run by myself (David Forde) I also organise the 21. Infanterie WW2 Historical society.

Over the past decade, our services have been called upon to partake in numerous film and TV productions mainly as extras but also some prestigious productions along with even music videos and TV advertisements.

One of our biggest problems we encountered was while we always enjoyed the film and TV involvement our society wasn't really set up to manage anything other than one or two productions per year as we already had a full calendar of events and activities planned for the membership.

Back in 2017, I decided to set up a professional arm to our society dedicated to coping with the demand for our services and this year 2018 Wartime Productions was launched.

I have been involved with WW2 living history since 2007 and since 2014 run my own society which I set up with a close network of associates within the UK. A Mark of our success is our membership which now stands at over 30+ members. Our society has grown in many departments from vehicle numbers to a vast array of WW2 related props and equipment. We enjoy having a good reputation within the UK living history scene and this is reflected in our continued involvement with English Heritage and a number of local authorities for whom we work with over the summer months providing fantastic WW2 services.

Our society is based around a solid structure with key members in all departments who manages all aspects of historical accuracy and research. Over the past decade, we have built up a unique network of historical enthusiasts and professionals within the UK and Europe.

Hurricane (Squadron 303) is the story of a group of brave Poles who fought in the skies over England in WW2, not just to keep Great Britain free from the Nazis, but also to keep alive the very idea of their own country, which had existed in its modern form for barely twenty years before it was crushed between the opposing jaws of Germany and Russia. Equipped with the almost-obsolete Hurricane and (with some initial reluctance) given RAF blue uniforms, while they fought, Poland lived.

In post-war England, journalist Stephen Underwood is keen to prove his worth. Working for a local newspaper he spends his days covering weddings and funerals while on the lookout for a story that will catapult him into the big league. When he hears of the suicide of a Polish soldier from a nearby Displaced Persons Camp, his journalistic instincts kick in.

The below is just a small sample of our current productions. We are involved in many other productions and projects. Due to NDA's these will be added in due course.

Note-The 21st Infantry Division Eastern Front Living History Group portrays members of the Wehrmacht & Soviet Red Army from WW2, and does so in the interest of historical reality and inclusion, rather than for any political motivation or cause. We are Historians first and foremost, and focused only on providing as realistic an approach to studying the conflict as possible. The 21st Infantry Division Eastern Front Living History Group respectfully requests any neo-Nazi/extremist groups to please look elsewhere for an audience, as we are NOT interested.
